2. Russet potatoes 

A lack of potassium in your body has been linked to headaches. One large potato contains more than three times the amount of potassium as a banana. By increasing your potassium intake, you can reduce your chance of frequent headaches. 

3. Cucumbers 

Dehydration is one of the most common reasons that people experience headaches. Cucumbers which are 97% water, are a great food to help rehydrate your body and provide headache relief because of dehydration. 

4. Cherries 

This sweet fruit contains compounds that convert nitric oxide into your blood which is known to trigger headaches. Eating cherries can reduce your chance of getting tension headaches and migraines since the compounds in cherries convert nitric oxide. 

5. Whole-grain cereal

8. Dark chocolate 

If your headaches or migraines are linked to a deficiency in magnesium, eat more dark chocolate. Dark chocolate has numerous health benefits as it contains a ton of nutrients. 1-ounce of dark chocolate has 64 milligrams of magnesium and can provide headache and migraine relief. Studies have shown that a magnesium deficiency is more common in people who suffer from chronic headaches and migraines. 

9. Legumes 

This family of nutrient-dense plants includes lentils, beans, chickpeas, peas, and soybeans. Beans are rich in magnesium while legumes are rich in potassium, iron, and are a great source of protein. Foods that are rich in magnesium and potassium can soothe and treat headaches and migraines. 

10. Bananas

Like legumes, bananas are also a great source of potassium and magnesium which can lower your blood pressure and reduce your chance of getting a headache.
